Casa Perico is a good example, since 1942 it has been one of the best restaurants in the city, its undisputably good homemade food. It is a museum of memories, where one can eat arroz a lo pobre ‘poor mans rice' (rice dish with wine and garlic etc.) or lamb chops … and feel quite at home.
The nights, in the areas surrounding the BENIGNUS apartments, are fun and varied, letting you enjoy the various pubs, discos, cocktail bars … but if there is one that is special, it's the Museo Chicote ‘ Chicote Museum ', a classic since 1931. Few times has a bar achieved such celebrity, a type of immortality, which has let it last and survive its creator Perico Chicote, one of the best cocktail lounges in Madrid .
For those who like fashion, in Gran Vía you will enjoy the shops of the great brands like Zara, Cortefiel, Custo Barcelona, Lacoste, Nike, Mango... and great fashion names.

It is an area of mostly homosexual ambience, with great acceptance. There are premises of all types and is an obligatory visit. It's charming terraces, bars, restaurants, pubs, discos, shops … make this a marvellous neighbourhood, where everybody fits in, without distinction of race, colour or sex. Walking through its streets, enjoying its people and its colours, will let you see a world of many tastes.
Madrid has always been an important place for the opening of theatre plays, operas and Zarzuelas (a musical scenic genre which arose in Spain with instrumental and vocal parts – solos, duets, choruses and spoken parts. It is different from the opera in that the spoken prose and song are alternated), and all the musical repertoires, from classical music to rock, pop … proof of this is the great number of theatres and music halls distributed all over the city. You will always be able to find a program to your liking.
